Zelensky:
We had no choice but to rebuild our own industry from scratch.
And I believe that technologically, in drones and other areas, we were able to make such leaps because it was a question of survival.
But when it comes to air defense, unfortunately, you know, hundreds of air-defense systems that Ukraine had in the 1990s were sold off, and this continued into the 2000s.
These were Soviet systems, Soviet missiles — primarily S-300 air-defense systems.
Nevertheless, we began working with our partners, and we are also working on these systems ourselves.
