US House Speaker Mike Johnson: This idea of socialism—it's a Marxist idea. Marxism has led to the murder of tens of millions of innocent people in the twentieth century alone. It is a trail to death. It is wrong because it begins with the wrong premise. You cannot reject the founding ideal—the creed of America—and be able to defend your freedom. Those are mutually exclusive pursuits.
