After Kuwait stripped Diplomat Badr Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Awadi of his citizenship earlier this year, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa granted him citizenship and gave him a high-ranking foreign ministry advisor role. He is a career Kuwaiti diplomat who served as Kuwait's Ambassador to the United Kingdom. This was done "by dependency" after the posthumous revocation of his late father Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Awadi's citizenship (a former security officer). The appointment is at the highest/excellent diplomatic rank, which is higher than his previous rank in the Kuwaiti foreign service.
